Ma’s Room & Board on East Ave
Overview
Ma’s Room & Board is a spacious home with ten single bedrooms and storage space for house members. It is located within walking distance of beautiful downtown Red Wing, making it close to store, library, parks, YMCA, and outdoor recreation. Ma’s Room & Board is on the city bus route.
- Ma’s Room & Board provides licensed Comprehensive Home Care through the Minnesota Department of Health
- Billing can go though the Cadi Waiver for services and Group Residential Housing for Board and Lodging
- Private funding can also be accepted
General Care
- 24 hour supervision, staff sleeps at night
- 3 meals per day Laundry service
- Monitoring and distribution of personal spending money (we have a system for holding spending money)
- Assistance maintaining a clean living environment within personal living space
- Any additional items as per service agreement
Medical Care
- Medicine setup and oversight by a registered nurse
- 24 hour on-call registered nurse
- Transportation to and from medical appointments
- Staff accompaniment at medical appointments
- Shower/personal care assistant upon request
Social Care
- One short 1 to 3-night trip every year, set up and staffed
- One 5 to 7-day trip every year, set up and staffed
- Daily walks downtown with staff
- Bi-weekly outings at varied locations such as museums, parades, baseball games, art fairs, shopping malls, concerts and restaurants
- Transportation for personal shopping upon request by house member
House Member Employment Opportunities
- Supervised work environment employment (day programming) available in Red Wing at ProAct or Opportunity services
- Support for house members in independent work environments is also provided
